e really didn’t have any idea what to expect when we brought Sinatra home that Saturday afternoon. Diva has been great with some dogs, has been not so accepting of others.
What would the addition of a new dog mean for the dynamics that already existed in our home with us and Mr. Big and Diva?
The answer to that question has also been the source of incredible joy for me, as well as the acceptance of a strong and opinionated female rottweiler. Mr. Big was about 4 – 1/2 when Diva joined our family. She was smaller than Mr. Big at the time, and they formed a wonderful bond. Mr. Big, though, is not much for active playing. As a result, though Diva would never really be alone, she also didn’t have someone that she could really play with…..until now.
Diva’s transformation was almost instantaneous. From the very first moment Diva met Sinatra, it has been as if her nurturing instincts kicked in and she began teaching him, and becoming his best friend. Sure, she gets a little annoyed with him from time to time. Nothing prepared us for the enthusiasm of his tongue and kisses. This goes for Diva as well. It has been a true pleasure watching the bond between Diva and Sinatra grow. As he grows, he has, and continues to grow into a wonderful playmate and pack member for Diva. I hope you enjoy these pictures of them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
