Adorable? Check! Petite? Check! Dog friendly? Check! Adores people? Check! Healthy and vetted? Check! The list could go on and on with the always smiling and wiggling miss Gretchen. This 1.5 year old whose small frame weighs in at a whopping 21 lbs. originally found herself at a shelter in the southern part of the state where, due to the huge number of hound mixes, she didn’t stand much a chance for adoption. But everyone at her shelter was so smitten that they made sure she got safely to our no-kill rescue where she would have tons of fun and socialization in her foster home until a forever family comes along.
Gretchen really is the perfect combination of looks and personality and she is a great size for someone that wants a non-small dog breed in a little package. Currently living in a foster home with a 185 lb. Great Dane foster brother, Gretchen is dog social and can go to a home with or without a canine companion. She also tested well with cats at the shelter but has not yet interacted with them in a home environment.
